DAK Mini Golf 2010
Our Kiwanis Club uses this Miniature Golf Tournament as its annual large scale fundraising event to benefit children in our local community. Over the last two years, we have raised over $8,000 for our school-aged youth leadership programs. This year funds raised will continue to support youth leadership development, youth service opportunities, and scholarship monies for students in the Dulles Area. Our focus however, is working with the Key Clubs at Potomac Falls and Dominion High Schools and the K-kids clubs at Guilford and Hillside Elementary schoolsplus our newest member of the "family" the Builders Club at Eagle Ridge Middle School. Key Club is the high school arm Builder's Club focuses on 6th to 8th graders and K-kids is the elementary school arm of the Kiwanis organization which promotes active participation of students in community service and leadership development activities.
We couldn't have had a successful event without such generous support from local businesses and families, and we would love to have YOUR support in 2010.
Our focus for event day is to draw in local families for the miniature golf tournament. Last year we drew a significant crowd of local families to play mini golf and we also had a large crowd of Key Club and K-kid volunteers and their families out to help with the logistics for the day. In addition, Woody's Golf Range remained open to the general public so the Dulles Kiwanis Club and its tournament sponsors received exposure via the that means as well.
The Dulles Area Kiwanis is excited to begin once again planning this unique, family friendly event and we look forward to the communities help in making our event at huge success for the third year running!
Look for more information to be available in the coming weeks on how you can get involved in this wonderful family-friendly event!
